Manufactured with advanced carbon and glass fibres in a matrix of vinylester resin. Many components such as the T-top, the main stairs, and the seats are manufactured in autoclaved pre-preg carbon. The Wider extension system is supported by an AISI 304 stainless steel frame. Access to the cabin is via a Bessenzoni sliding glass door. The hull is multi stepped for hydrodynamic support. Roughly 12 seconds are needed to expand the surface area to more than 18m2, with the possibility of maintaining or even improving transversal vessel stability. Once widened the curved beams can be even further extended to increase immersion of the side floats.

Manufactur comments: Combining high performance with low fuel consumption, the WIDER 42 is equipped with twin 480hp Cummins engines which drive her to over 50 knots – an impressive speed for a 42’ cruising yacht. These performance figures are largely due to the stepped hull, designed by offshore racing specialist Mark Wilson, as well as Arneson surface drive propellers. 70% of the WIDER 42 is made of carbon in order to achieve a relatively light displacement and excellent power to weight ratio. As a result, the WIDER 42 offers enhanced efficiency and has a greater range than other yachts in its size category. The heart of the yacht can transform to fulfill a number of different functions. The lunchtime dinette, built entirely in carbon fibre can quickly be turned either into a comfortable sundeck or smart chaise longue. This area also has a fitted outdoor galley with a teppanyaki griddle and an icebox for chilling drinks and keeping fresh fruit to hand. In the stern you find a Yamaha Wave Runner jet ski, 210 pk The lightweight central carbon fibre stairway leads to the bow, where those aboard can enjoy the sun while relaxing on large sun pads. The lines of the handrail follows those of the sliding crystal door. The deck is furnished with a C-shaped seating area that can be converted into a large double bed. Opposite this is a flat screen LED TV. The head has a crystal shower unit, a glass washbasin and carbon toilet. The kitchen area has a worktop with a sink and single ceramic burner, which can be fitted with a microwave if desired.
