Comments

Midship sword has been removed, no changes have been made to the sword cabinet, the winch for picking up the sword, etc. In principle, the sword could be put back in place in no time at all. The only problem is that the owner left the sword on Corfu at the time. So a new sword would have to be made. Provided that the exact form and the measures are available (that should come from the shipyard). But the owner strongly advises a new owner not to reapply the sword. It is in fact a thing of the past for a number of reasons, and it has no discernible effect on the sailing characteristics, not even high to the wind. The removal of the sword helped to give the ship the correct trim (originally it was too heavy in the back, which meant that the butt did not let go of the water properly). This has now had a very positive effect on the sailing characteristics.

Comments

The engine was replaced in 2008 because the aerator of the cooling system was too low. Moreover, there appeared to be a casting mould in a weld in the specially made stainless steel exhaust bend. That's why some water got into the engine. All this was solved by raising the aerator (now at least 30 cm above the waterline, as it should be) and replacing the exhaust bend with a standard Yanmar one. The engine itself had not survived either. Revision was as expensive as a new engine, that's why.
